Book Giveaway
In honor of the return of Project Runway, I'm giving away one copy of my book Altered You! Your Style ... Your Stuff ... Your Space. Post a comment and tell me what off-the-rack clothing you've altered -- or would like to alter. I'll pick a random winner next week during episode two. Here's a link to some of my favorite altered projects.

I love Project Runway, which is funny because I know nothing about fashion or making clothing.
ReplyDeleteThe closest I've come to altering something is changing the buttons.
I really enjoy altering things and giving them a new life. One of my favorites so far has been a lovely suede jacket I found at the thrift store.
ReplyDeleteIt had some discoloration on one of the lapels so I removed them and completely changed the look of the jacket. Much fun!
Thank you for entering me in the drawing!
When Casual Fridays morphed into Casual Week I was left with a boatload of neckties. I made some minor adjustments, adding a snap button here and permanent knot there and turn them into curtain tie backs.
ReplyDeleteTracy, sometimes changing buttons can make all the difference. I put an antique pearl button on a $5 Kohls clearance sweater and it's one of my favorites. Jules, a little vision can bring a long life to something others deem unwearable. I bet you got a great price on the jacket. Steven, I love necktie crafts even though I haven't made any. I saw a pattern for glasses cases that piqued my interest. The patterns and silks are so lovely -- it's a shame for them to go to waste.
ReplyDeleteJules is the winner, randomly selected by my daughter. Send me your info and I'll send a book along. Thanks to everyone for playing!
