  1. Congratulations Karin! Must feel so great to finally have your book complete.

My first piece of jewelry...hmmm...must have had some colored macaroni involved. But I remember going into a bead store on State Street in Madison when I was in college in the late 80s. I was fascinated by all the beads and that some of them could cost more than $5 a piece!??!?! I settled on some inexpensive cloisonne and made earrings for myself and for some family members for Christmas. My dad's cousin STILL wears those earrings!

I would like to think that I have evolved a lot further since then!

    Enjoy the day!

  2. I remember making earrings out of seashells. The seashells already had holes in them and I just hung them from a pair of ear wires -- probably purchased at Ben Franklin. So creative.

Congrats on your book. Hope your day goes well!

  3. I'm already a follower!

My first piece of jewelry was a triple strand of seed beads in red, green, and clear for my mom for Christmas. I used regular sewing thread and glued it to the clasp. Egads.
